Behind the Mind: Spobart Logo

Several years ago, when I took art classes at SUNY New Paltz, I had some trouble brainstorming ideas for abstract patterns. Among the ideas I came up with was “Increase,” a collection of patterns emphasized strictly with simplicity.

Somehow, nearly three years later, I wound up looking back at the project with unexpected curiosity, which eventually led me to redraw this simple icon. This piece I titled "Clock,” a bold pattern that seamlessly begins where it ends, and ends where it begins.

Around the time I found out about Weebly, I made the logo accompanied by font for my self-proclaimed animated graphic entity, Spob Art. One of my first ideas might have looked cool at first. However, it seemed a little much work to look at, as if the viewer is reading the logo into the text. Though I will say this, the first example of my logo is merely a neat little rough draft that was fun to run wild with.

Whether a loop breaks or forms with another, the cycle has to keep going.
